Gearbox has released the patch notes for the latest Borderlands 4 patch.

As you may remember, Gearbox’s creative director Graeme Timmins went on record that they’re prioritizing buffs over nerfs.
So we do know that nerfs are coming. But the next few weeks should be making us feel more powerful now.
With that in mind, let’s check out what’s getting updated this week.
Gear Balance Changes
- Ruby’s Grasp damage increased by 50%
- Ruby’s Grasp fire rate increased by 25%
- Bully drone damage increased by 50%
- Bully base damage increased by 50%
- Rangefinder base damage increase by 30%
- Queen’s Rest spawn chance increased from 30% to 50%
- Queen’s Rest fire rate increased by 50%
- Seventh Sense orb damage increased by 250%
- Hellwalker base damage increase 30%
- Convergence base damage increase by 25%
As you can see, not a single item listed here is a nerf. They’re all buffs and stat increases in one form or another.
And then, there are a few individual changes.
Anarchy In The Kairos
Anarchy is a Legendary level shotgun from Tediore. It has a special weapon effect called Mutualism.
Every time you kill or autoreload this shotgun, you get a 15 % increase in damage and a 15 % decrease in accuracy. It’s a funny risk/reward proposition, but there’s another side to it.
Mutualism should stack up to a maximum of 20 stacks. At that point, you could absolutely miss your target at point blank range.
Of course, if you managed to make your target stagger and stun them for longer, you could kill them before it reaches that point.
This effect wasn’t stacking correctly before this patch. So players who have Anarchy could see it get overpowered now.
Reversing Vex’s Bleed Nerf – For Now
As you may have heard, Vex’s Bloodletter skill is so overpowered in its current state that even her players think it should get nerfed.
Last week, Gearbox nerfed Vex so that her Bleed did not register as status effect damage properly.
The nerf wasn’t that huge, as it depowered her by 90 %. But this update has brought it back to its overpowered state.
One does wonder how Gearbox plans to nerf this skill eventually. Maybe the devs will add a skill check. For example the passive effect could reset if they miss a shot or two.
Gearbox Loves Pets (As We All Should)
Lastly, Gearbox has made an adjustment so that all pets on all classes gain Critical Hit Chance from passive skills as well as gear.
This of course includes Vex’s shape-shifting familiar, Trouble. But it also refers to summons like Specters, Reapers, and Forgeweapons.
At least for now, Gearbox is leveling up everybody. So it’s still a good time to log in and play right now.
