There was a big release last week with Gearbox Software’s launch of Borderlands 4. The video game was hyped up with fans hopeful that the developers had taken time to deliver a game that would surpass the reception of Borderlands 3. If you’ve been on the hunt for loot, you might have been seeking out some of the various skins popping up online. Some of these you won’t be able just to find in-game.
Gearbox Software has been offering a few different cosmetic giveaways to players. The developers have offered various cosmetics and in-game rewards, but some players are struggling to understand how to obtain them. Fortunately, Gearbox Software decided the best course of action was to offer a comprehensive guide for how to unlock each item currently available for the game.
Borderlands 4 Cosmetic Item Offers

Taking to the official Borderlands 4 blog, the developers offered a complete breakdown of the different cosmetic items you can acquire and how to go about receiving them. You can find the full guide right here. However, we’ll include a recap of the items and how to acquire them as noted in the official blog post below. It’s worth noting that you require a linked SHiFT account with Twitch and the platform account you’ll be using for Borderlands 4.
Watch, Drop, and Roll Echo-4 Drone Skin
This is a limited-time Twitch drop that will be available until September 26. Players interested in acquiring this skin must watch a 20-minute Borderlands 4 livestream in the Borderlands 4 category on either the official Borderlands 4 Twitch channel or the Gearbox Twitch channel.
Forsaken Chaos Legendary Shotgun / Midnight Defiance Legendary Sniper Rifle
This is a limited-time Twitch drop that will be available until September 30. Players must watch any Borderlands 4 Twitch livestream in the Borderlands 4 category for 2 hours each.
Break Free Pack
The Break Free Pack was a launch weekend-only reward. This offered the Break Free vault hunter skins, drone skin, Kn0x drone skin, and Firebreak legendary Ripper Shield. However, this pack is no longer available to acquire.
Paint the Town Crimson Echo-4 Drone Skin
This loyalty reward is being given away by Gearbox Software to players with a SHiFT account who have previously played a game in the franchise. Those games include Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition, Borderlands 2, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, and Borderlands 3. That said, this one is limited, but you should have more than enough time to acquire it, as it will be around until December 31, 2030.
Hazard Pay Weapon Skin
For this item, you’ll get the skin by subscribing to receive newsletters and digital marketing with a SHiFT account. To obtain the weapon skin, log in to the SHiFT website, link your preferred platform accounts under Gaming Platforms, and then you’ll be able to acquire it. Meanwhile, it’s worth noting that you may find additional rewards to redeem from the emails you receive. Much like the Paint the Town Crimson skin, this one will be available until December 31, 2030.
Gilded Glory Pack
The Gilded Glory Pack was a pre-order/pre-purchase bonus that included a Get a Grip vault hunter head, Lust for Luster, vault hunter skins, a Broken Order weapon skin, and a Lust for Luster Echo-4 drone skin. Furthermore, you’re granted four pieces of legendary gear. This is no longer available to acquire for PC, PlayStation 5, or Xbox Series X/S platforms. However, it’s still available for Nintendo Switch 2 players as the game doesn’t arrive for that platform until October 3, 2025.
Ornate Order Pack
The Ornate Order Pack was attached to the Super Deluxe Edition of the game. This includes 12 premium cosmetics, with each vault hunter getting three unique cosmetics.
Firehawk’s Fury
Firehawks’ Fury is a weapon skin that was attached only to the Deluxe and Super Deluxe Editions of Borderlands 4.
If you go about acquiring any of these items, then you’ll find them available in the Reward Center section of the inventory screen. All cosmetics can be equipped under the customization tab.
