Nvidia has revealed the enhancements they have added to Nvidia RTX graphics cards for Borderlands 4.

They shared this update on the official GeForce blog:

Our newest DLSS innovation, DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation, generates up to three additional frames per traditional frame, multiplying performance significantly, for the fastest gaming possible at the highest resolutions and detail levels.

GeForce RTX 50 Series owners can multiply Borderlands 4 frame rates by up to 5.5X using DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation.

GeForce RTX 40 Series owners can accelerate performance with DLSS Frame Generation. And all GeForce RTX gamers can boost frame rates and enhance image clarity using DLSS Super Resolution’s transformer AI model.

Additionally, all GeForce gamers can activate NVIDIA Reflex, reducing PC latency by up to 54%, further increasing the responsiveness of Borderlands 4’s fast-paced action.

Proof In The Pudding

Nvidia also broke down how these enhancements improve Borderlands 4’s performance.

At 4K, max settings, DLSS Super Resolution and DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation brings up framerates by approximately 5.5 times. RTX 5080 ramps up to 186 FPS, and RTX 5090 goes up to 256 FPS.

At 2560×1440, the RTX 5090 goes up to 300 FPS, and other RTX 50 GPUs go up to 200 FPS.

At 1920×1080, DLSS Super Resolution and DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation raises RTX 50 card performance to a minimum of 160 FPS on the RTX 5060, to as much as 343 FPS on the RTX 5090.

Of course, most gamers had to pick one of these cards and stick with it. So, all this number crunching won’t actually be relevant to most of their customers. But if you’re using the higher end of these gaming PCs, it’s clear that Nvidia’s cards will enable Borderlands 4’s peak performance.

Plus, There’s A Promo!

If you’re in the market for a gaming PC or laptop now, you can get Borderlands 4 with its Gilded Glory Pack at no extra cost.

They have a Borderlands 4 GeForce RTX 50 Series Bundle with GeForce RTX 5090, 5080, 5070 Ti, or 5070 graphics cards. You can get these cards on their own or as part of a prebuilt desktop.

You can also get these bundles in laptops with GeForce RTX 5090, 5080, 5070 Ti, or 5070 laptop GPUs.

But, this promo is only available in select retailers and bundles. You can avail of this promo on Nvidia’s store or participating retailers here.

Could These Be Coming To The Switch 2?

So, we obviously should not be expecting 300+ FPS framerates on the Switch 2. But Nvidia clearly gave Nintendo a lot more tools than fans and even games press and game testers thought they did.

So for all the fearmongering some gamers have made about the Switch 2 port, it will be very interesting to see where the game’s performance will actually land. We’re just going to have to wait to learn that in a month’s time.
