Resident Evil fans have been eating well for the past several years now. The folks over at Capcom have managed to turn the franchise back around to a more horror-focused gameplay experience with Resident Evil 7. However, with a game series that is as long-running as this one, it makes sense to come out with remakes. One game that some fans have been waiting for is a Resident Evil 5 remake.
It wouldn’t be a reach to assume Capcom will develop a remake for Resident Evil 5. They’ve done them so far in order with the mainline series. The latest being Resident Evil 4. However, that’s not actually the case, as an insider is confident that right now there’s no current Resident Evil 5 remake project being worked on.
Resident Evil 5 Fans Will Have To Wait A Little Longer

We know right now that the focus for Capcom is to bring out the Resident Evil Requiem game into the marketplace. That’s also been the trend lately, as we will generally see a new release followed by a remake. However, Dusk Golem, who has a strong following for their insider information on Resident Evil, cleared the air.
Dusk took to X and revealed that they have heard nothing right now about a Resident Evil 5 remake being in development. However, they believe if fan demand continues, it’s very much a possibility to see a remake treatment. While Resident Evil 5, for a lot of fans, felt like a big change-up in terms of gameplay style, it still had a strong following.
We also saw a cooperative gameplay experience, which we’re sure would still be the case for a remake. Meanwhile, Dusk Golem did alert fans that they have heard the Resident Evil Code Veronica remake is going incredibly well. If the report is to be believed, the Code Veronica remake might be going so well that it’s actually ahead of schedule.
