Xbox Game Pass Has 7 More Games Coming This Month

August 19, 2025 by Dennis Patrick

The second wave for August 2025 has officially been unveiled!

  • Xbox Game Pass August 2025 Wave 2
  • Leaving Xbox Game Pass August 31

Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass subscription service is well worth picking up. It’s viable across not only Xbox consoles and the PC platform, but also cloud gaming. If you’ve been a subscriber for very long, you know that there are typically two waves of video games announced each month.

Typically, at the start of the month, we get our first wave of video games. Those titles will hopefully bring you to at least the midway point of the month. At the midpoint of the month, we will generally get the second wave of video games announced. It might have taken a little longer than some might have anticipated, but August 19, 2025, finally saw Microsoft opening up on what’s left coming to the subscription service through the Xbox Wire.

Xbox Game Pass August 2025 Wave 2

  • Blacksmith Master (Game Preview) (PC)
    • Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass
  • Void/Breaker (PC)
    • Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass
  • Goat Simulator Remastered (Xbox Series X|S) – August 20
    • Now with Game Pass Standard
  • Persona 4 Golden (Cloud, Console, and PC) – August 20
    • Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, Game Pass Standard
  • Herdling (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) – August 21
    • Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass
  • Gears of War: Reloaded (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) – August 26
    • Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass
  • Dragon Age: The Veilguard (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) – August 28
    • Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass
  • Heretic + Hexen (Cloud, Console, and PC) – Available now
    • Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass

Hopefully, there’s something here that might pique your interest! With the announcement of what’s left coming to the subscription service, there’s also the announcement of what’s leaving. Unfortunately, we only see first-party game titles stay on the subscription service. That’s, of course, unless there are licensing issues that pop up.

Meanwhile, everything else is only available for an unspecified duration. Today, we’re learning that five games will be leaving the Xbox Game Pass subscription service this month.

Leaving Xbox Game Pass August 31

  • Ben 10 Power Trip (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Borderlands 3 (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Paw Patrol Mighty Pups Save Adventure Bay (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Sea of Stars (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • This War of Mine: Final Cut (Cloud, Console, and PC)

Fortunately, if you’re a subscriber, there is a special 20% discount that you can take advantage of. This will allow you to keep the games in your digital library. However, you’ll need to pick these games up before they are officially dropped from the service to get the discounted price. Meanwhile, there seems to be interest from Microsoft on bringing out a cloud focused tier for Game Pass.
