I can’t wait for Resident Evil’s next major installment. We’re eagerly awaiting its release and looking out for any and all new details to emerge online for the game. Fortunately, it looks like a tidbit of new footage was featured for Resident Evil Requiem yesterday. If you missed the footage, it came through the latest GeForce On Community Update.
NVIDIA GeForce’s YouTube channel recently uploaded a new update video highlighting the latest coming from the company. It was essentially an overview of some of the games that will utilize the DLSS 4, among other features, coming to things like the NVIDIA App. However, what you might find of interest is right towards the end of the upload, there was a section on the Resident Evil Requiem game.
Resident Evil 9: Requiem Developer Update
The surprise update came with just a brief overview of the Capcom’s partnership with NVIDIA. Essentially, with this partnership, NVIDIA is looking to not only enhance the fidelity of the game for developers, but also aid in optimizing the game for PCs. It’s even noted that the folks over at NVIDIA are looking to optimize the game for PCs with entry-level specifications. Of course, details as to the specifications we’ll need to run the game are still under wraps.
Meanwhile, for those of you who can make use of RTX, you will find that the game should deliver in photorealistic graphics. This will not only help with lighting but also with reflections. You can get a bit of that from the snippets of new gameplay footage showcased. That video can be viewed above with the developer update happening at 24:24.
As for Resident Evil Requiem, the game is set to take on the role of an FBI technical analyst named Grace Ashcroft. Seeking out clues to a series of murders, her investigation will take her back to Raccoon City, decades after Resident Evil 3: Nemesis.
Currently, the upcoming game is set to launch on February 27, 2026. When it does release, you’ll find it available for the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms.
