Dying Light fans are waiting to get their hands on the next big installment. We know Dying Light: The Beast is coming our way, despite having a recent delay. This delay is only pushing the game back by about a month. However, we’re finding out that once this game is released into the marketplace, it won’t feature microtransactions.
That’s a relief for some players, with others feeling that this should be an obvious case for single-player games. Still, it’s at least reassuring that the developers won’t be treating the game similarly to their previous release, Dying Light 2: Stay Human.
Dying Light: The Beast Won’t Feature Microtransactions
This confirmation comes from Tymon Smektala, the franchise director of Dying Light. On X, it was pleaded to Tymon that the developers would not add any virtual currency or microtransactions to Dying Light: The Beast. In a brief reply, Tymon stated that it’s not planned. That’s at least reassuring, as it suggests this game won’t be riddled with microtransactions, hoping to encourage players to continue spending money on a single-player game.
For those unaware, this was an initiative that Techland had previously attempted. In Dying Light 2: Stay Human, developers added a virtual currency and an in-game shop. Players who wished to purchase any of the content would have to pay for a bundle of virtual currency and then purchase the item from the game.
As for when you can get Dying Light: The Beast, it was initially slated to come out in August. However, it was pushed back by four weeks. Players interested in the game can now expect it to be released on September 19, 2025. At launch, the game will be available for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms. Meanwhile, those on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One should expect the game sometime later this year.
When you finally do get your hands on the game, we’re learning that you’ll have quite a bit of content to go through. It was recently revealed that, beyond the campaign, there are at least an additional twenty hours of content for players to explore.
