The Witcher franchise is still thriving. Long after the first novel was written up, we’ve seen a series of successful video games. Likewise, we have the iconic Netflix live-action show adaptation. However, if you haven’t been following the news regarding the show, don’t expect The Witcher season 4 to feature Henry Cavill.
It was bitter news to so many fans worldwide that Geralt wouldn’t see the conclusion of this storyline with Henry Cavill. For the first three seasons, we’ve come to know this iconic character, with Cavill taking on the character’s live-action portrayal. But we’ve since learned that the final two seasons of the show will see the storyline wrap with Liam Hemsworth. While Liam will look as close to the part of Geralt as possible, some fans might be thrown off by the appearance.
Fortunately, it appears that the show already has plans to address the difference in appearance. Thanks to a report from Redanian Intelligence, we’re learning that the upcoming season will explain the appearance through a storyline featured in the books. In one of the novels, there is a storyline that features a young girl named Nimue, who is alive over a hundred years after Geralt and company have passed.
These iconic characters are legends, and Nimue seeks out a Stribog who begins to tell a tale of the iconic Geralt of Rivia. However, Nimue and the other children start to dispute Geralt’s appearance, altering it during these flashbacks. So, that seems to be the reason we’ll see a slightly different-looking Geralt from the fourth season and fifth.
Whether that will appease some die-hard fans remains to be seen. Fortunately, we shouldn’t have to wait too long before we get our first real trailers looking at this upcoming season. We know that The Witcher season 4 is currently in post-production. Meanwhile, we know that CD Projekt Red is hard at work with The Witcher 4, a storyline that will continue in the narrative while featuring Ciri as the main protagonist.
