There’s one less event to look forward to this year.

As Stephen Totilo shared on Bluesky, Ubisoft has cancelled their Ubisoft Forward event for this year. He received this message from Ubisoft:
We are always eager to connect with our players and showcase our games….We are continuing to explore opportunities to share updates, and we look forward to providing more information at a later date.
They then explained to Totilo that Ubisoft will be part of IGN Live, which will be held on June 7 and 8, and the PC Gaming Show on June 8. Ubisoft will also be in this year’s Gamescom, which is happening in August in Cologne, Germany.
As you may already know, Ubisoft is currently in a transition period. Management is making a new subsidiary that will be 25 % owned by TenCent, and will house their biggest franchises, such as Assassin’s Creed. Ubisoft told investors they’ve already decided to delay several games. If those games were supposed to be featured in what should have been this month’s Ubisoft Forward, it stands to reason that the event would not longer be necessary.
But Ubisoft does have a few games and projects they could be revealing this month, assuming the rumors are true. For example, while we know Ubisoft already has a schedule for upcoming content for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, they have yet to announce a Switch 2 port. Considering PEGI posted a rating for that platform early, the port is more or less confirmed.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is also rumored to be getting a Director’s Cut, releasing later this year. Like Assassin’s Creed Shadows, this could also be planned for the Switch 2. While Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora came out to mixed reception, it’s easy to imagine Ubisoft getting prodded by Disney to try and make the game a thing one more time, possibly in time for the next Avatar movie.
We received a release window for the Prince Of Persia: The Sands of Time remake. It should release by March 2026, AKA before the end of this financial year. Even if this game won’t be out until next year, Ubisoft will have to show us a preview sometime this year. If development really is finishing up, they should have at least enough to share a preview now.
Speaking of Prince Of Persia, Ubisoft made a tweet implying that Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown earning 2 million players has ‘revived the legend.’ That can’t be enough time to make a Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown sequel, but they could make an announcement now.
Ubisoft was also rumored to be making an Apex Legends copycat, a decision that not even everyone in the company was supportive of. Ubisoft could have already cancelled this project, but if its supporters still got their way, we could see it soon.
Finally, there are rumors that the Rayman game that Ubisoft confirmed was in development is a full AAA title. Even if this Rayman game isn’t ready to release, they could share a trailer now so we could see the vision.
That may not be everything that gamers could look forward to from Ubisoft this month, but we’ll have to wait and see what Ubisoft is showing soon.
