Is A Splinter Cell Remake Announcement Being Teased?

May 30, 2025 by Dennis Patrick

Ubisoft throws out a single image to get fans hyped.

Update:

Industry Insider Tom Henderson has since chimed in and stated that the he’s seen the remake and it looks impressive. However, no details has been shared on when we might see it.

Original Story…

Ubisoft hasn’t been taking too many W’s lately. It’s a studio that has had more misses, leaving more than a few frustrated fans. One of the means to help turn things around is the release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows. While that game did seem to do well, we’re not given too many insights as to just how profitable that title ended up being. Regardless, another announcement is potentially being planned soon to help boost fan hype, and it might be the Splinter Cell remake.

Ubisoft has an extensive catalog of IPs at its disposal. One of those game franchises that has a fan base waiting for some kind of new movement is Splinter Cell. The IP hasn’t seen a new game in ages, but that might change. We’ve heard in the past that a remake was coming for fans. However, nothing has officially been showcased to the public.

Today, it looks like Ubisoft released a new post. More specifically, there is a Splinter Cell post on the social media profile. To break things down even further, we have a photo of Sam Fisher from the Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory game, a title that launched back in 2005. That’s not the latest Splinter Cell game to have been released, either, as the last we saw of the series was the 2013 release, Splinter Cell: Blacklist.

Now, the question on fans’ minds is just what Ubisoft has planned out. Could we see a Splinter Cell remake announcement soon? The Summer Game Fest event is scheduled to take place next week. That will feature a long list of partners attending; you can check out the breakdown of confirmed partners right here. Unfortunately, Ubisoft wasn’t yet listed as a company set to attend.

That said, we also learned not long ago that many of Ubisoft’s major franchises were being pushed back. So even if this announcement comes out, it might not be a game we’ll see right away. So again, it leaves us wondering just what is going on with Ubisoft. We recently did a video covering this very topic, which you can view below.
