Many of us are wondering just how much money we’ll be forking over to enjoy Grand Theft Auto VI. This game is on just about everyone’s mind in the gaming industry. Pricing could demand a whole lot more than what we’re used to seeing. While we don’t know just what the official price tag will be for this game, Take-Two Interactive CEO recently commented on its pricing structure.
Thanks to GamesRadar, we’ve learned that Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick spoke about the pricing structure. More specifically, it seems Zelnick noted that they have always had variable pricing. Their motto seems to be to bring consumers more content and fun than what they charge. Likewise, by doing this, the revenue should come rolling in. We can take Mafia: The Old Country as an example of this.
It wasn’t long ago that we heard Mafia: The Old Country would only cost players $50. That’s a step below our current standards with $60 to $80 games. While it might be a linear game, its pricing might entice players to pick it up. If more players pick this game up because it’s cheaper, there’s a good chance profits might go up more than trying to appeal to the fans of the Mafia franchise.
Unfortunately, we’re not given any insight into what Take-Two Interactive will charge for a copy of Grand Theft Auto VI. While they are all for providing more content and fun than what they charge, it could still be a pricey game. We’re seeing more focus around $80 games, and fans fear this might be the title that will surpass the $100 mark.
For now, all we can do is wait and see. After all, we have a year to get through before we have our hands on the game. In other news related to GTA 6, Strauss Zelnick commented on the recent announcement of the delay. Three months after saying he felt good about the game’s release, the game was delayed a year. So what happened? You can read more about Strauss’s views on the matter right here.
