Nintendo seems to have had that rare online gaffe this weekend. Well, rare for them.

Over the weekend, several Nintendo users found that they received online bans on their Switch 2 consoles. Online communities went abuzz over the bans, due to suspicions that Nintendo did another sweep for potential hackers and modders. However, they found that many of the banned users were not using flashcarts or playing games on their console in other illicit ways.
For what it’s worth, it’s public knowledge that the Switch 2 has not yet been jailbroken. It’s confirmed that MiG flashcarts work with a Switch 2, but it can only play Switch games on a Switch 2.
As explained on GBATemp, those online bans have been rescinded today. A person from Nintendo’s customer support confirmed that the issue was a server error. If you happen to have been affected by this false ban, you can just reset your console to fix it.
