It’s been almost two weeks since the reveal of the Nintendo Switch 2 and its first lineup of titles. Or, at least, the titles that Nintendo wanted to show us in its “first foray” with the new system. The console has been the talk of the internet for some time, and it’s not slowing down anytime soon. To that end, things are slowly getting revealed about the console and its games, which will make many happy and others curious about what will be shown off next. For example, a new image has been dropped from Nintendo itself, depicting Switch 2’s home screen.
As you can see below, it’s basically the same one that the Nintendo Switch had. Yet, as many are noting in the comments of this tweet, that’s not exactly a bad thing.
After all, the point of the Nintendo Switch 2 in many respects is to do what the OG Switch did and then do it better. That’s why we’re seeing such changes to the overall console via its graphics and processing power, while also seeing improvements to the Joy-Cons, which were redesigned “from the ground up” to address all manner of player complaints from before.
Going back to the home screen, the design is honestly totally fine. It’s easy to find things, easy to move around it, and so on. The only thing that people in the comments section wished for was the ability to customize themes, which Nintendo may grant them, it hasn’t been revealed yet, though.
These small updates are likely what we can expect for some time outside of leaks from the Switch 2 Experience Tour that’s going on right now. Gamers are getting their hands on the new system and are getting to test some of its games for themselves. As such, anything is possible regarding who sees what and what games will get “special reveals.”
Speaking of games, there are many who still hope to get more information on games coming out both this year and next for the Switch 2. For what the reveal Direct on the 2nd did have gaming announcements, not many of them were from the 1st party side of things, which really surprised many. Some feel that another Nintendo Direct may be coming before the launch on June 5th; that way, gamers have an even better picture of what’s going on with the system in its opening year and why they should be it.
Stay tuned!
