Hazelight Confirms Its Secret Split Fiction Challenge Was Finally Completed

March 20, 2025 by Dennis Patrick

Winners are getting brought out to the studio for a look at the next game.

Hazelight is still riding the wave of success with their latest release, Split Fiction. The game recently launched into the marketplace and keeps the trend of past game releases. Players are getting another cooperative experience that requires two individuals to go through the game. But there was one little challenge developers put into Split Fiction in hopes of finding a couple of players skilled enough to finish it.

There’s a secret challenge that would give players a difficult laser platformer section to get through. It’s not an easy feat, as players worldwide attempted to finish the course. However, it looks like two players managed to finally do just that. VGC noted that these Chinese players were able to get through the section, and you can view a video of their accomplishment right here.

Going by the name sharkOvO and E1uM4y, the duo reached the end for a video to pop up. It turns out Josef Fares recorded a message and alerted the players that they were the first to reach the end of this challenge. Their reward would be a trip to the studio in Sweden, where they will get to check out the next game from the development team.

Josef Fares also took to their personal X account and confirmed that these two were the first to finish the level. It’s said that they will be in touch soon to arrange a trip to the studio. Of course, the project currently being worked on is a mystery, so these two will be some of the first to look at what’s coming our way next.

Congrats to ”sharkOvO” and ”E1uM4y” for finishing the secret challenge ”Laser Hell” in #splitficton. VERY impressive! I will keep my promise and invite you both to Sweden for an early look of our next game😎

We´ll be in touch!

That said, Split Fiction is available for players to enjoy right now. The game launched on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms earlier this month. If you want our overall impressions of the game, you can check out our Before You Buy video coverage below.
