Some Xbox players who recently wanted to get cracking into some video games might have turned their Xbox console on to see a welcome screen. A new update was recently released for those who joined the Xbox Insiders program. However, this update introduced an annoying little bug that insiders have to deal with.
Thanks to VGC, we’re finding out that a new update for Xbox Insiders has reportedly deleted profiles from their console. Fortunately, you can breathe a little easier, as it’s just the profiles that were removed. That means before you can start gaming again, you’ll need to log back into your profile on the console.
All of your games and content on the console will still be there. You won’t be forced to redownload your video games or other content, as that would be quite a headache, especially if you’re already short on time. Of course, you’ll have to go about the various console settings again. Likewise, you won’t have your quick resume feature since the console will not have that saved from your previous gameplay session.
As you can imagine, it’s an annoying bug that fans have been vocal about since it was uncovered. This update was meant to fix a few issues rather than bring out new features. For instance, it was meant to fix some display options, like the console accurately detecting support for Dolby Vision.
So, all in all, this could have been so much worse. Again, this is just for those attached to the Xbox Insiders program. For those of you unaware, this service gives players early access to the newest Xbox features and allows them to test the latest games. But because it’s a test before a full rollout to the public, you’re going to run into these issues from time to time. Again, this is just a warning to those who have not logged into your Xbox since the update.
