There is some hype built up around Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra. The game hasn’t seen many marketing materials released, but we expect it to land in the marketplace in 2025. Unfortunately, that was as much of a release window as we had for the game since it was announced. Now, it looks like a voice actor might have just narrowed it.
Thanks to The Direct, who had the chance to speak with voice actor Khary Payton, we’re finding out that there are plans to see Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra launch around Christmas this year. Khary Payton is the person who is lending their voice to the Black Panther character.
Khary noted they are still working on it, but at least we should see this game land in the marketplace before 2025 wraps. Of course, we’re still waiting for the official word on whether that’s the case.
For those unaware, this is an action-adventure game based on the 2010 Marvel Comics limited series Captain America / Black Panther: Flags of Our Fathers. The storyline features Captain America and Black Panther as they seek to take down the infamous Hydra group.
This is also set to be an action-adventure game made as a single-player experience. However, it’s coming from a new studio, Skydance New Media. The development studio was founded in 2019 when Skydance announced Amy Hennig would head the studio. For those unaware, Amy Hennig was formerly with Naughty Dog, where she helped bring out games like Jak and Daxter. Likewise, she was the creative director and writer behind the Uncharted series.
Officially, Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is set to launch this year. You can view the story trailer embedded below while we wait for new marketing materials to come out for the game.
