Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 is a game we’re waiting for, and it’s likely going to be a good while before it comes to fruition. However, that doesn’t mean there aren’t some details out there to be shared. In fact, it looks like one detail that can be confirmed is that Peter Parker is not hanging things up for good. With that said, here’s your fair warning: There will be some spoilers regarding the ending of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 in the news post.
Insomniac Games might be focused more on Marvel’s Wolverine, but we’re fully expecting the continuation of the Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise. After all, it seems that was in the plans due to the ransomware attack on Insomniac Games not too long ago. Regardless, details will be scarce as to what the future of this game series entails.
Fortunately, actor Yuri Lowenthal made one comment. Thanks to The Direct, who attended an L.A. wildfire recovery benefit, the publication managed to speak with the actor. For those unaware, Yuri was Peter Park’s voice actor in the games. During their conversation, Yuri noted that while there are very few things he can say about the game, one aspect he can share is that Peter Parker is not packing things in.
There are very few things that I can say about this game, but you have somehow landed on the one thing that I can answer, and that’s that, yes, Peter is not gone. He will be a part of the next game and he won’t be relegated to the couch, I promise. – Yuri Lowenthal
You won’t find him on the couch. So he’ll be in the next game, but at what capacity remains to be seen. From where things left off in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, it looked like Miles Morales would be the main Spider-Man to keep the city safe. That was until we found the introduction to Cindy Moon at the end of the post-credit scene.
Speculation is that Miles may soon have Silk featured in this game with Cindy now being tossed into the narrative. But for now, it’s purely a waiting game right now as to what the future holds for this series. If you have yet to play the latest installment, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is available for the PlayStation 5 and PC platforms.
