There’s never a shortage of rumors, supposed leaks, and speculation about the video game industry. However, a few industry insiders have gained a following for their credible track record. One of those industry insiders has released new details about an upcoming controller from the Xbox platform. According to their post, it looks like there is still a new push to deliver a controller similar to the rival platform controller, the PlayStation DualSense.
This news comes from Extas1s, as we found through Reddit. It looks like a few new details have been uncovered about a new controller heading our way from the Red Better XCloud files. If you remember those leaks that emerged back during the FTC battle Microsoft endured, it’s essentially a rehash of the previously leaked Sebile controller. When attempting to acquire Activision, Microsoft had a few notable leaks, including some plans like the Sebile controller.
It’s an upcoming controller that would look to deliver something similar to DualSense. You’re going to potentially see some improved haptics added to the controller. Meanwhile, there are modular components, which the past leak document discussed as modular thumbsticks. Furthermore, there is a gesture wake-up for the controller, which might make it more responsive when picked up to play some games rather than having to physically hold down a button to turn the controller.
A big change that some fans might appreciate is it also looks to drop batteries. Instead of finding some new AA batteries to keep your controller powered, this new controller will have a rechargeable battery. This controller might still be a good way off or may not even come to fruition.
We’re waiting to see an official announcement from Xbox on this controller. It could be something set aside for a new console renewal for this generation or perhaps for the next Xbox console. So, until the official word comes out, it’s purely speculative and rumors.
