Get Your First Look At The Dead by Daylight Resident Evil Crossover

February 10, 2025 by Dennis Patrick

Playtime is over.

We knew for a little while now that Resident Evil was returning to the Dead by Daylight game. It was highlighted earlier this month, and now the 2v8 game mode that would focus on two iconic Resident Evil villains is officially here. Check out the first look at the game crossover event in the video embedded below.

2v8 is back, and it’s centered around Resident Evil’s Nemesis and Albert Wesker. As the game mode name suggests, the focus would be on two enemy characters versus a bigger pool of survivors. Survivors would have to overcome the odds and escape these sinister killers while trapped in the iconic Raccoon City Police Department.

The game mode went live today and will be available until February 25, 2025. So, if you haven’t logged online today to play Dead by Daylight, you’ll have something new to try out. That said, there are some additional tweaks to help account for the surge of players trying to go through the game as a killer.

Developers have taken to X and alerted fans that to help alleviate the long Killer queues, some of the lobbies will have two survivor bots added into the mix. This won’t be a case where every game match will have a couple of survivor bots. Instead, it looks like this will be incorporated when an influx of players and queue times start getting out of hand.

While this is a timed event, it does look like Behavior Interactive is interested in adding some game modes for players to enjoy at their leisure. However, that doesn’t seem to be in the immediate works. We wanted to point this out in case you happen to miss the timed event.

At any rate, you can view the 2v8 Resident Evil crossover trailer below. For those who have yet to pick up a copy of Dead by Daylight, the game is available right now on the PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms.
