Gather round the fire, children, stay out of the dark. Here is a story that'll make the hair on your arms stand up and keep your mind racing with every scratch and bump in the night. There once was a digital distribution service called Steam and a digital distribution service called Origin. Steam was around for longer, but one day, people who had used Steam started to realize that Origin had taken on a life of its own and was magically starting to display EA games bought on Steam without the users consent.
This is the news that Origin can (and has been) automatically sync up compatible EA games from Steam onto Origin. By searching through files, something that EA got into trouble over back when Origin first launched, it can automatically transfer your games across to the Origin service so that Mass Effect, Dead Space and whatever else you have on your computer can be launched directly from Origin.
Of course, this whole situation could be much, much worse and, for the one or two people abandoning Steam for Origin this could be quite helpful. Either way, go take a look, you might be surprised. Just be sure to take a friend, it's dangerous out there.
