Dead by Daylight is still going strong after initially launching into the marketplace back in 2016. One of the ways that this game continues to see players logging online and going through matches is the support developers at Behaviour Interactive put into this title. We have countless crossover events and characters being added to the mix. In fact, today, we can confirm that the 2v8 match is making a return, and it’s set to be based around Resident Evil.
Thanks to The Gamer, we’re finding that Dead by Daylight is returning with the 2v8 event. Speaking with game director Mathieu Côté and senior designer Jean Escalante, a few details have emerged online. This 2v8 event is nearly here, as it will become available starting on February 10 and will last until February 25.
So, not only do we have a bigger lobby and two killers to deal with, but we are also getting a theme around this event. As mentioned, the developers are focusing on a Resident Evil-themed event, where the killers will be Nemesis and Wesker, who is named Mastermind within the game.
Likewise, in the interview, we learned that the map featured for this timed event will be the Raccoon City Police Department. Again, this event will only be available from February 10 to February 25. Fortunately, it does look like the developers are taking note of what events fans are finding to be more enjoyable than others.
The Gamer noted that developers are considering adding the option to play some of these modes, like Chaos Shuffle and Lights Out, at their leisure. However, that doesn’t seem to be something coming to the game in the immediate future. So, for now, it looks like these events will continue to be in rotation.
Dead by Daylight is currently available to pick up. The game was released for the PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5 platforms.
