There is no shortage of games we can’t wait to dive into. But easily, the biggest game to hit the marketplace this year will be Grand Theft Auto VI. This is one behemoth of a video game franchise, with fans stuck on the last mainline installment since it was initially released in 2013. However, we know that the development team at Rockstar Games is preparing to launch the next major game this year. Still, this wait seems to have recently driven players back to GTA 5.
It’s reported that Steam has seen a big resurgence for GTA 5 recently. Thanks to The Gamer, we’re learning that Grand Theft Auto V has had its fifth most-played session ever on Steam. This doesn’t break some impressive numbers, as the game had over 192,000 players enjoying it directly through Steam at launch. Still, it’s reported that an average of 128,000 players have been going through this game in the last thirty days.
These numbers are coming from Steam Charts. If you are interested, you can view some of the stats for this installment. Regardless, quite an impressive number of players are still enjoying this game. Of course, if you’re only playing on PC, you might be forced to play this installment for a little longer.
Grand Theft Auto VI is set to release this year, but not on PC. Instead, the game will be released for console platforms, specifically the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. We’ll be waiting to see when the PC platform receives the game, but as it stands, we don’t expect that to happen this calendar year.
Again, we’re still waiting for another trailer to highlight some gameplay footage and the game’s release date. But with a game as big as this one, we imagine the developers are busy trying to make it as perfect as possible before it’s ready to be released into the marketplace.
