Nintendo fans were finally treated to the official reveal of the Nintendo Switch 2 this month. That was surprising news, as the company just decided to shadow-drop the console trailer rather than make a big event presentation. However, that trailer also confirmed that a Nintendo Direct fully focused on the Switch 2 would be coming on April 2, 2025. A new rumor suggests that we are getting another Direct presentation before then, as it’s supposedly set for next week. This time, it will focus on the current Switch console platform.
Okay, prepare for this rumor, as it might be farfetched. Still, it has enough people putting some consideration into it that it’s worth pointing out. So what has people thinking a Nintendo Direct is coming next month has to do with Nintendo’s Transfer User Data and Transfer Save Data having maintenance on February 4, 2025. Not a big deal, right? Well, what makes this date interesting is that there have been a few Nintendo Direct presentations during this time.
Thanks to a Reddit post, we’re finding out that three out of five Direct presentations in the past have happened on the same date as the maintenance or the day after. Again, it can be a stretch, but it has enough people thinking there’s something to Nintendo holding these Directs around the same time more often than not.
At any rate, we’re lucky to know this date is just next week, as it won’t be long before it either gets debunked or proven accurate. This might also bring out some new games for the Switch to help tie us over until the next console drops. Again, with that said, don’t expect anything related to the upcoming Switch 2, as we already know that the console will get its own Direct presentation in just a couple of months.
