Dragon Age: The Veilguard initially generated a lot of hype, but as the release date approached, the hype started to dwindle. Some fans weren’t interested in the game, and that seems to show now. We might actually be seeing BioWare and EA move away from it already. Will this be the last update Dragon Age: The Veilguard receives?
It’s never fun seeing a game fail to meet the expectations of fans and developers alike. So, it might be frustrating all around with Dragon Age: The Veilguard. We recently reported that EA stock started to dip as this game and EA Sports FC 25 failed to meet their initial sales expectations. While details are not showcased to the world, those numbers must have been bad.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard was only released in October 2024. Specifically, the game launched on October 31, 2024, so it’s hard to call it an October-released game. But it’s surprising that support might be winding down just a few months later. This comes from a report from Insider Gaming, which pointed out the official patch notes for the latest update that hit this game.
“Thank you all for playing Dragon Age: The Veilguard; we were so happy with the game’s stability at launch and hope you have enjoyed our Quality of Life patches since then. With the game being in a stable place, we are moving to monitor for any game-breaking bugs should those occur. Dareth shiral!” – EA
In the patch notes, the developers thanked the fans and expressed their satisfaction with the game’s stability. Since the game is now stable, it seems that they are only monitoring for game-breaking bugs. So, it sounds like there is a move going on internally that is focusing more on other projects.
The latest patch notes were focused on bug fixes and some quality-of-life changes. At any rate, if you have yet to play the game and would like to try it for yourself, it’s readily available to pick up on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms. We also have a Before You Buy coverage on the game, which you can view below.
