It's been nearly 14 years since I first found out about Pokemon. Like many kids, I was playing the card game and watching the cartoon before ever playing the video game. When I finally did get the video game, I played it on my original, 200 pound, grey plastic GameBoy. To this day, people are still trying to collect them all, and for good reason. It was really the first popular series that combined our favorite things to OCD over: collecting things, and leveling up.
So whenever a new Pokemon game is announced, it's a pretty big deal. If you are still a fan of those games, you might want to head over to Junichi Masuda's blog, where he announced that he would be appearing on Japan's popular 'Pokemon Smash!' TV show and making a VERY important announcement.
Assuming you don't live in Japan (a fair assumption to make in most cases, I am guessing) he will be making the same announcement on Twitter immediately following the show. Or better yet, if you don't speak Japanese (another fair assumtion, yeah?) just stay tuned to GameRanx and we'll let you know what the announcement is!
Here's hoping it's a proper Pokemon game, and not another in a long series of strange spin offs.
