Some of the players who bought Stellaris upon its release may have noticed a serious problem with the game: it stutters. For some players, the screen even flashes. It’s a well-known, highly-reported bug on the Steam forums that numerous players, including some of us here at Gameranx, have been experiencing.
To that end, Paradox Interactive has released a new beta patch for Stellaris that brings the game up to Beta v1.0.1. But to install the update, you’ll first need to do the following things:
- Go to your Steam Library
- Right click “Stellaris” and hit “Properties”
- Go to the “Betas” tab
- Under the dropdown menu, select beta_1.0.1 – Beta Hotfix 1.0.1
This will allow you to play the game with the fix enabled, so you won’t have to deal with your screen flashing, which is an issue with AMD Freesync monitors related to the stutter bug.
