Kenny Omega Teams With Final Fantasy Composers For New Entrance Theme

January 6, 2025 by Todd Black

O-ME-GA!

If you didn’t know, wrestling is a place where all manner of inspiration can be taken. Men and women in the sport have taken references from TV shows, movies, anime, and, yes, video games. For some, it is their lifeblood and a passion that oozes into every element of their wrestling game. You may recall that last year we talked with Will Ospreay about his love of a certain Ubisoft franchise and how it inspired his entrance at AEW All In. Well, his rival and fellow AEW megastar, Kenny Omega, also has a love of video games that has become a key part of his wrestling persona. For many, he is the “Final Boss” that you must face if you want to say you’re the best in the world.

Another thing you may recall is that Kenny had an entrance at the New Japan Pro Wrestling event Wrestle Kingdom two years back, where he came out to the Sephiroth theme while dressed as the “One-Winged Angel.” Well, at the new event Wrestle Dynasty, where AEW and New Japan collaborated with one another, along with other wrestling promotions, Kenny Omega decided to up his game once again and came out with a custom theme made by Final Fantasy composers. You can watch the full theme below:

KENNY OMEGA IS FINALLY BACK WITH THIS SENSATIONAL FINAL FANTASY BOSS ENTRANCE.

The Best Bout Machine, The Cleaner is HOME in New Japan Pro Wrestling… in Tokyo Dome.

You can see/witness all the references to the beloved RPG franchise between the soundtrack and the video package on the screens. If you’re curious, Masayoshi Soken was the composer of the track, and he made music for the 14th and 16th entries in Square Enix’s long-standing series.

For those who aren’t the biggest fans of wrestling, you’ll wonder why someone like Kenny would do this. Yet, when you see the reactions online to this entrance, and especially the track, they all understand that this was Kenny’s way of saying that he was “special,” that even when he’s been “off” due to injury for the past 13 months, that he can still run circles around everyone else in the ring. He’s the “One-Winged Angel” of wrestling for a reason because very few can stand up to him.

Plus, he really is a gamer! He’s been featured in numerous titles over the years and has worked with companies like Square Enix, SEGA, and Capcom to help plug their titles. So, him getting to work with some gaming icons to make a brand new theme to welcome him back to the world of professional wrestling? Yeah, that feels like something that “The Cleaner” would do.
