Xbox is undergoing a bit of a revamp at present, the company as we once knew it is no more. The focus is slowly shifting to being a global publisher and marketplace rather than an exclusive platform. It seems that in addition to those recent changes, there is a renewed focus on engagement. This is further emphasized by the changes shared today.
As Klobrille shared on Twitter, Xbox posted their rewards update on Xbox Wire. Microsoft is offering fans new rewards for the time they spend on Xbox and Xbox Game Pass. This will take multiple forms listed below.
- Game Pass Quests on PC
- New Game Pass Quests
- New Ways to Earn Rewards
- Play and Earn
Game Pass Quests on PC
Quests offer gamers the opportunity to earn rewards by playing specific games on Game Pass. This was previously limited to Game Pass Ultimate Subscribers but it will also be available to PC Game Pass subscribers from the 7th of January, 2025.

- Monthly 4-pack
- Players that try four different games from the game pass catalog for at least 15 minutes will win points every month.
- Monthly 8-pack
- If you can double up on the four-pack and play eight games every month then you’ll be entitled to even more points.
New Ways to Earn Rewards
In addition to quests, Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass members can also score extra points when they access the PC Weekly Bonus. These points can be as high as 150 points when playing for 15 minutes.
Play and Earn Update
Earning rewards points based on your gameplay will now only be available to those who are older than 18. This is part of Microsoft’s attempts to make online gaming spaces more friendly and courteous.
