The next big title release that has quite a few fans watching out for is Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. We’ll get to jump into the action as Indy as we venture into different locations all around the world. But if you’re playing on PC, you might find that the game will come packed with Denuvo DRM. It’s a hot topic for several players, as there have been suggestions and showcases in the past that Denuvo DRM could lead to poorer performance.
This is just a report from Tech4Gamers, which credits SteamDB. It’s been said that Denuvo DRM was secretly added to the game just recently, days before it is set to be released into the marketplace. However, it shouldn’t be too shocking, as most new games, especially larger ones, come packed with some DRM attached.
It’s just that we’ve seen plenty of reports online suggesting Deunvo does take a hit on performance for some games. There’s been a back-and-forth on whether this is the case, but I’m sure some players will be interested in seeing how much of a performance drop the game has with the DRM activated. Of course, we won’t know how much that will be until the game is cracked or the DRM is officially removed.
Denuvo DRM is a means of keeping a game locked and secure for those unaware. Without it, the game would be quickly tossed online for anyone to download without having to pay for a copy. So, it does serve an important purpose for developers and publishers. Eventually, we will see some games where Denuvo DRM is removed altogether. But if this happens, it’s typically not until years after its release.
While on the subject of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, we just reported on the PC system requirements for this game. Meanwhile, the game is quickly approaching its release date. Players can expect the title to launch on PC and Xbox Series X/S platforms on December 9, 2024. Then, in 2025, we should see the game become available on the PlayStation 5 platform.
