Well, if you were hopeful that Cyberpunk 2077 would be one of the games to receive a PlayStation 5 Pro patch treatment, then you’re out of luck. The developers are not working on anything for this game regarding Sony’s PlayStation 5 mid-gen upgrade. This might be a bummer for a few who had held out hope, but it shouldn’t be too surprising as it seems that the focus has been taken off from Cyberpunk 2077.
CD Projekt Red is off working on other projects at the moment. We are not seeing anything new and notable come to the Cyberpunk 2077 game, despite some fans’ hope that a PS5 Pro patch will be considered. Instead, a fan took to X and noted that they were hopeful a PlayStation 5 Pro patch would come and give players another reason to dive back into Night City again. But CD Projekt Red replied on the official Cyberpunk 2077 X account that they have no current plans on delivering a patch.
That’s not to say they won’t change their minds, but it seems highly unlikely. We know that they have moved on to a few projects. Those wanting more Cyberpunk content will have to wait a good while long. We know that there is a sequel installment in the works. It’s actually being developed under the latest studio addition for CD Projekt Red. If you don’t recall, CD Projekt Red built a new studio within Boston, and this team will be heading up the development of the successor of Cyberpunk 2077.
However, we’re likely a good way off from this game getting a showcase. Instead, we’ll likely see the next installment to The Witcher franchise first, so you’ll have to stick with the current builds of Cyberpunk 2077 if you wish to roam around the infamous Night City.
