Death Stranding Director’s Cut Finds Its Way On Xbox

November 7, 2024 by Dennis Patrick

A surprise release happened today from the folks at Kojima Productions.

After Konami’s sudden split, many wondered what Hideo Kojima would do next. Of course, we all know that Hideo opted to build up his own studio with Kojima Productions and has since released its debut title into the marketplace with Death Stranding. Not long after, they brought out an expanded version with Death Stranding’s Director’s Cut, and in a surprise release, it’s actually available to pick up and play right now on Xbox Series X/S platforms.

Kojima Productions made the surprise reveal today through their X social media platform. It was unveiled that those of you interested can now pick up Death Stranding Director’s Cut on Xbox Series X/S for a steep discount. So this is a brand-new release for the platform, and you’ll also see it currently available at 50% off. That’s quite a savings right out of the gate if you have been eyeing this game but were only limited to enjoying games through the latest Xbox console lineup.

Perhaps the timed exclusive deal with PlayStation finally ran up, and now there’s a bigger net of players who can enjoy this game. However, playing this might get you the urge to dive into its sequel. We already know that Death Stranding 2: On The Beach is in the works for a release in 2025. However, you’ll find that the game is only set to launch right now on the PlayStation 5 platform.

At any rate, if you haven’t already tried this game, you can find our Before You Buy coverage in the video embedded below. However, you’ll want to note that this was coverage from the game when it was initially released and not direct coverage for the Xbox Series X/S platform release.
