Fans have been waiting for the next major Grand Theft Auto franchise installment for years. After Grand Theft Auto V, fans would wait for a while before they learned anything about the next installment. Of course, back in November of last year, we got word of its reveal alongside a trailer. That report almost tossed the whole reveal announcement further back into the year.
Thanks to a report from Dexerto, we’re finding out today that a GTA 6 insider had revealed plans to withhold the game announcement. Tez2 apparently took note that they were aware of Rockstar Games’ Sam Houser wanting to push the announcement back. This was due to a report made by Jason Schreier. If you don’t recall, Jason alerted his followers through the Bloomberg publication that Rockstar Games had planned to announce the next Grand Theft Auto title within the week and that it would later see a trailer drop for the game within December.
It was Sam who planned to push the announcement back to throw off Jason Scherier and their reporting. However, that ultimately didn’t happen, and Rockstar Games officially confirmed that Grand Theft Auto VI was being worked on, with a trailer coming in December of that year. If the delay had happened, that would have been quite a hit on Jason, who has been a prominent gaming industry insider for years now.
At any rate, fans are still waiting for more information regarding Grand Theft Auto VI. One even went as far as going to the development studio and snapping a picture inside the building. Of course, nothing spoiler-related was unveiled, but it showed a large poster of the game inside. So it seems like we just have to wait to see when Rockstar Games is ready to bring out its next big trailer, revealing more about what we can expect when we return to Vice City. In the meantime, you can view the announcement trailer dropped last year in the video embedded below.
