There’s an interesting new reveal about a game that Bethesda is working on, which could be the game that you’re thinking of.

As shared by Timur222 on Twitter, a Bethesda employee named Jeffrey Frampton has been working in Bethesda Game Studios since November 2017. He’s actually been in the industry since 2006, but his projects under Bethesda are the big ones.
As listed on his LinkedIn, he worked on Fallout 76, which was released in 2018, Starfield, which released in 2023, and an unannounced game. This game is dated “202X.”
Of course, the big next game that fans have been waiting on for Bethesda is The Elder Scrolls 6. As many of you may be painfully aware, Bethesda made an official announcement for it all the way back in 2018, but fans have been stuck waiting.
In fact, everyone was certainly left surprised when Bethesda also announced Starfield, and ended up releasing that game first, on PC and Xbox Series X|S. While the game certainly has an active player base, and is almost certainly a financial success, the broad consensus, surprisingly, is it was a disappointment in comparison to the studios’ total gameography.
And so there’s a feeling of urgency, not only to finally reveal and release The Elder Scrolls 6, but to make sure that it’s the kind of generation defining action RPG that Bethesda is known for. Bethesda very directly acknowledged fans for looking for the game as recently as last year, but we still haven’t seen any announcements yet.
Since Microsoft acquired Bethesda three years after The Elder Scrolls 6 was announced, that may have complicated plans for the game’s release. While it’s certainly secured the game’s budget and platforms, Phil Spencer would be weighing where the game should be coming out in an even bigger slate of titles from an ungodly amount of studios that Microsoft Gaming owns.
There’s another game that Bethesda hopes to release that we know of, and that would be Fallout 5. The thing is, Todd went on record that they’re not working on Fallout 5 after they finish The Elder Scrolls 6. On the off chance that Frampton’s LinkedIn is actually referring to this game, then that means that both games are releasing before 2030 arrives. And it also implies that The Elder Scrolls 6 is coming sooner than we all expect.
It would be completely uncharacteristic of Bethesda, but you never know. And also, there’s another wilder possibility, which is that this could be a secret third thing within Bethesda. But it is possible, instead of three games releasing in five years, that Bethesda could be making a truly completely unannounced game, and that’s coming out before The Elder Scrolls 6 and Fallout 5.
But then, it could be something a lot more mundane than we’re thinking, like an Elder Scrolls or Starfield mobile app in the same vein as Fallout Shelter. Still, there’s certainly something ominous about a game that just has 202X listed as its release date. There’s leeway in there for it to be coming in the tenth console generation. We’re certainly all looking forward to Bethesda’s next big game announcement.
