Insomniac Games programmer Michael Kuehl has passed away.
Kuehl, who previously worked at Infinity Ward and Electronic Arts, was involved in a traffic accident on February 12th, succumbing to his injuries. He is survived by his wife, Kristen Kuehl.
“Michael was a loving husband to his wife and a loyal friend to all who knew him. He was kind, generous, intelligent, and wholly unique in his outlook on life.” Insomniac Games’ tribute page reads. “He was passionate about video games, his cats Wall-E and DK, Cornhusker football, and he never passed up the chance for a great steak.”
A memorial fund has been set up in Kuehl’s name, with proceeds going towards assisting his wife during this difficult time. Insomniac Games stress that you do not need a PayPal account to donate, and they will incur all fees from non PayPal donations.
Those wishing to celebrate the life and achievements of Kuehl are invited to a public memorial service at the Marriot Hotel Convention Centre in Burbank, California on the 24th of February. The service begins at noon and will finish at 4pm.
Our deepest condolences go out to Michael’s family and friends during this time.
