However, one industry insider for Halo did make a new video highlighting what they had recently heard about a Halo Infinite 2 game installment.
Thanks to Insider Gaming, we’re discovering that Rebs Gaming made a new video highlighting what they had heard about Halo Infinite 2. According to their source, who was a former employee at 343 Industries, which is now known as Halo Studios, a Halo Infinite 2 game was being worked on. Apparently, this project was kicked off right after Halo Infinite. Not many details about the storyline or what was being brought into this game installment are known. However, it is reported that developers were still using the Slipspace game engine.
Since Halo Studios had moved to Unreal Engine 5, the game project was killed off, and also that came with a large layoff from the studio. As for the campaign team, it was reported that they were not feeling very supported by the new leadership that came into the studio. Now that the game project was killed off and a series of layoffs happened, it’s believed that Halo Studios is actually outsourcing the campaign content for the next Halo game.
It’s a mystery what is going on with the next mainline Halo installment. Perhaps Halo Infinite 2 is still in development but now under Unreal Engine 5, or it could be something entirely new.
