DOOM PC Requirements, Pre-Load, Unlock Times and Launch Details

DOOM is coming out next week. Here’s what you need to know.

DOOM will be released next week, and ahead of its release, Bethesda has revealed important details about the game’s launch. Read on to find out what kind of PC you’ll need to get the game running, assuming you buy it for the PC, and how much space you’ll need if you get it on either the Xbox One or PS4 consoles. You’ll also find details about when you can pre-load the game, and exactly when you can expect to play it.

With regards to the PC, you’ll need a 64-bit  version of Windows 7, Windows 8 or Windows 10 with an Intel Core i5 or better, or an AMD FX-8320 or better. You will also need 8GB of RAM and an Nvidia or AMD graphics card to play the game. Integrated graphics won’t be powerful enough to run the game.

DOOM PC System Requirements

Minimum:

  • OS: Windows 7/8.1/10 (64-bit versions).
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-2400/AMD FX-8320 or better.
  • GPU:  Nvidia GTX 670 2GB/AMD Radeon HD 7870 2GB or better.
  • RAM: 8 GB RAM;
  • Storage space: 55 GB free HDD space;
  • Contains a single disc. Download of additional files from Steam (total amount 45 GB) is required to run the game.
  • Requires Steam activation and broadband internet connection for multiplayer and SnapMap.

Recommended:

  • OS: Windows 7/8.1/10 (64-bit versions);
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-3770/AMD FX-8350 or better.
  • GPU: Nvidia GTX 970 4GB/AMD Radeon R9 290 4GB or better.
  • RAM: 8 GB RAM;
  • Storage space: 55 GB free HDD space;
  • Contains a single disc. Download of additional files from Steam (total amount 45 GB) is required to run the game.
  • Requires Steam activation and broadband internet connection for Multiplayer and SnapMap.

DOOM is presently available to preload on both the Xbox One, so if you’ve preordered the game digitally, you should be able to download the game now ahead of its release. Those on the PC and PS4 can preload the game on May 11 at 12AM EST. Both Xbox One and PS4 consoles will need 50GB of free space.

The game will launch on May 13. Here’s when it unlocks:

  • Australia/New Zealand @ 12 AM AEST
  • North America @ 12 AM ET
  • Europe @ 12 AM GMT +1
  • Japan/South Korea/Rest of Asia – 12 AM Japan

Xbox One:

  • New Zealand @ 12 AM local time
  • Australia @ 12 AM local time
  • North America @ 12 AM ET
  • Europe @ 12 AM local time
  • Asia @ 12 AM local time.
  • Japan @ 12 AM local time on May 19

PS4:

  • New Zealand @ 12 AM local time
  • Australia @ 12 AM local time
  • North America @ 12 AM ET
  • Europe @ 12 AM local time
  • Asia 12 AM local time.
  • Japan 12 AM local time on May 19

If you haven’t done so already, you can still pre-order the game for yourself before release.
