Square Enix royalty Naoki Yoshida, Hironobu Sakaguchi, and Nobuo Uematsu took the stage at Tokyo Game Show 2024 to share more about the upcoming title FANTASIAN Neo Dimension. First launched for Apple Arcade in 2021, the title is being enhanced for its console and PC release this December, and fans of Final Fantasy received a welcome surprise.
In FANTASIAN Neo Dimension, players will be able to select songs from the Final Fantasy franchise as background music. The music in the game already promises to be incredible, as Uematsu has composed the soundtrack, but it’s nice to have the option.
Songs from the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster series, Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker, Final Fantasy XIV: Dawnwalker, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and Final Fantasy XVI will appear.
Earlier this month, Hironobu Sakaguchi expressed the happiness he’s felt developing FANTASIAN Neo Dimension, noting that he had initially planned to retire after his work on the original mobile title. He also teased a new project.
“I genuinely made Fantasian thinking it might be my retirement work, but yes, I’m taking it back,” he said in an interview with Famitsu. “We’re starting to talk about a new project…that is, we’re making a new game. It’s almost the same team that worked on Fantasian, but I can’t tell you what we’re working on yet.
FANTASIAN Neo Dimension will be released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on December 5. This version of the RPG will feature English and Japanese voiceovers along with an additional easy difficulty option.
