Ahead of the release of the remastered version of Until Dawn on October 4, the game’s PlayStation 5 download size has been revealed. Given the updated graphics and extra content, it’s no surprise that the PS5 version is a tad larger than the PS4 original.
According to PlayStation Game Size on X, the Until Dawn remaster will be 56.676GB, around 10GM larger than the PlayStation 4 game.
First released in 2015, the interactive horror game tasks players with controlling eight young adults who must survive the night on Blackwood Mountain. Most impactfully, the title features a butterfly effect system, in which any choices the player makes can alter the story in minor or major ways.
“Rebuilt and enhanced for PS5 consoles and PC, Until Dawn invites you to relive the nightmare, and immerse yourself in a gripping slasher horror where every decision can make the difference between life and death,” the game’s official description reads.
The game was nominated for various awards upon release, including Best Narrative at The Game Awards 2015 and PlayStation Game of the Year at the Golden Joystick Awards. It won Best Original Property at the British Academy Games Awards 2016.
“We’ve created a new optional alternative for the Don’t Move mechanic called Stay Calm,” the developers announced in a PlayStation Blog post. “Stay Calm is for third-party peripherals that do not feature a gyroscope or for players who prefer a different challenge.”
The updated game will feature new collectibles, a reworked prologue, and overhauled visuals rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5.
The Until Dawn remaster will be released on PlayStation 5 and PC on October 4, 2024.
