Sony is throwing together a celebration for the iconic Outbreak Day, a holiday fans celebrate in connection with The Last of Us. The focus is all about the franchise, and while we knew that The Last of Us Part 1 was coming to PlayStation Plus Game Catalog today, a few other goodies were revealed.
Taking to the PlayStation Blog, Chris Howe, the group manager for PlayStation Services Marketing, unveiled what Sony had planned today. As we already reported, the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog added The Last of Us Part 1. Now, PlayStation 5 fans who haven’t had a chance to dive into this game can do so just as long as they have at least a subscription to PlayStation Plus Extra.
But today, we’re also getting word of what other goodies players can redeem. A new PlayStation Star Campaign was unveiled, allowing players to earn a digital Clicker into the collection. All you need to do is play The Last of Us Part 1 to get this added to the collection. Fortunately, you will have plenty of time as this will be available to claim until November 26, 2024.
Additionally, you can sport an avatar based on The Last of Us. These new avatars can be claimed through The Last of Us page on the PS Plus Hub. By venturing over there, you can claim avatars for Joel, Ellie, and a Clicker. That will be accessible for players until October 26, 2024.
Lastly, one final piece of celebratory goodness for The Last of Us Outbreak Day comes in the form of a discount. Players can pick up some gear based on The Last of Us with a special 10% discount code. Those interested will need to use the code TLOUPLUS10 at checkout when you visit the gear section of the PlayStation website.
This wasn’t the only news related to The Last of Us today, either. Earlier, we reported that the HBO adaptation will feature some untold backstory not featured in the games when season two debuts.
