There was plenty of hype built up around Sony PlayStation this week. It was noted earlier that Sony would be holding a PlayStation State of Event. That livestream came out yesterday, and during the thirty-minute presentation, we got new announcements and updates for several upcoming games. However, September 26 marks an important date for some gamers. That’s the official Outbreak Day within The Last of Us IP. Sony knows this, and thanks to PSU, we’re learning that Sony announced on the stream that they are celebrating it by including The Last of Us Part 1 on PlayStation Plus Extra.
PlayStation fans who enjoyed The Last of Us have made September 26 an important date. It’s celebrated for the date that was so crucial to the franchise’s storyline. That was the day the world fell into a spiral and left humanity striving for survival. We see Naughty Dog and Sony celebrate this date, and tomorrow, we will receive The Last of Us Part 1 on PlayStation Plus Extra. For those unfamiliar, this is a remake of The Last of Us, a game initially launched for PlayStation 3 and later received a remastered edition for the PlayStation 4.
Several enhancements were made to give players a better overall visual experience. I’m sure you’re already familiar with the game, but it follows the events of a man named Joel who takes on the task of transporting a young teenage girl across the country. The storyline is an emotional rollercoaster, and it even prompted a live-action adaptation, which was also an incredible hit on HBO.
Players who have a PlayStation 5 and have yet to try this game out will not potentially have the ability to do so. All that you need to do is subscribe to at least the PlayStation Plus Extra tier, which grants you access to the PlayStation Game Catalog.
