Admit it, Modern Warfare 3 is a fairly fun game. For all its faults, there's nothing like running around, preferably with a significant other or close friend on the sofa next to you, shooting random nobodies who're equipped with nothing better than douchebag Gamertags and terrible microphones. Granted, I've only ever played the console version, this weekend that might change.
Modern Warfare 3 will be have its online modes opened up to the non-paying public this weekend; so long as you have a Steam account and the internet connection to cope with the download, you can find out what the fuss is about for absolutely nothing. And, if you decide that actually, all that bitching you've done on the internet is unfounded and, actually, it's not all that terrible a game, the developers have knocked 33% off the price: £26.79 in the UK.
That's far below what brick and mortar retailers are offering it for at this point, although still not especially cheap. It might not be a terrible game, but it's certainly an expensive one. The game is available for download now and you can play through the full multiplayer game until Monday.
