The PlayStation 5 will soon get an official Minecraft version of the game. This title was unveiled recently for Sony’s latest-generation console platform. However, we were left waiting to see how much the game would set players back. Now we have the official confirmation. The game will come out physically for $29.99. But that’s not all; you’ll also get to grab some tokens.
Thanks to a report from Gamespot, we’re finding out today that Mojang Studios’ upcoming Minecraft version release for the PlayStation 5 is available for preorder. Those interested in picking up a copy must set aside $29.99. That’s great if you don’t already own a copy of this game on the PlayStation 4. That’s because when you break it down, the game is only setting you back $10.
With this game purchase, you’ll get access to 3,500 tokens for in-game content. That would normally cost you $20 if you only get 3,500 tokens. Fortunately, that should be a good deal if you’re after something more than just the plain Minecraft experience. But you will have to wait a little while before you’ll be able to get your hands on this game and the tokens.
Minecraft on PlayStation 5 will be released on October 22, 2024. That said, Gamespot notes that those of you who have a PlayStation 4 version of the game will have access to a PlayStation 5 digital version for free. This copy is also said to be compatible with all bedrock versions of the game.
This wasn’t the only news about Minecraft this month. Earlier, we got word that Minecraft developers were changing how they add content to the game. Overall, the focus is on sending out more content, even if it’s smaller, rather than waiting for large content drops. So, that should make Minecraft a little more engaging throughout the year. Meanwhile, it was also noted that Minecraft would see support end on the PSVR in 2025.
