Black Myth: Wukong DLC Rumored to Be Coming in Early 2025

September 16, 2024 by Carley Garcia

Chinese New Year seems like an apt time.

Expansions or DLC for Black Myth: Wukong may be coming in early 2025, according to one analyst. While additional content for the action RPG has already been confirmed, no release window has been announced, leaving players desperate for more information.

According to publishing and gaming consultant Daniel Camilo, DLC for Black Myth: Wukong will be released sometime around the Chinese New Year in early 2025. This means fans can expect new content at the end of January or very soon after.

DLC for Black Myth Wukong will come out somewhere near the Chinese New Year, 2025.

That is, right at the end of January, or very soon after.

This is according to very reliable first hand sources I heard from.

Camilo also predicted that, while the game has seen unprecedented success, only 20% of the title’s total user base would purchase the DLC. The majority of sales of the game came from China, and the analyst predicts that the novelty will have worn out by this point. Additionally, the game’s difficulty may prove to be a factor in future sales.

Upon the release of Black Myth: Wukong in August, players quickly showed their support as the title broke into Steam’s all-time most-played games within mere hours of its launch. The game attracted over 1.44 million concurrent players on Steam within its first few hours, making it the platform’s fourth biggest game ever when using that metric.

Additionally, on the weekend following the title’s launch, Steam surpassed 37 million concurrent users for the first time in its history.

Black Myth: Wukong was released on August 20, for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. An Xbox Series X/S version is still in development. The game has already sold around 20 million copies across all platforms.
