There is a ton of hype built up around Silent Hill 2. The game franchise, in general, remained somewhat dormant for several years. Konami finally opted to give this IP another fighting chance with several projects in the works. Arguably, the biggest among them right now is Silent Hill 2, a remake of the PlayStation 2 classic brought out by Team Silent. While we have a little ways to go before the game launches, a stream of the first 90 minutes has appeared online.
A Japanese streamer known as 2BRO has released footage of their time with the game. For fans of the IP, this is something you’ll likely want to dive into immediately. Konami and Bloober Team have mainly kept the installment under wraps, sharing only small bits and pieces of the game with the community via trailers. That eventually changed when VGC published their time with the game last month. It was our first substantial look at Silent Hill 2 despite there being small cuts.
Instead, this time, it looks like we’re getting the full start of Silent Hill 2, which should provide a better look at not only the gameplay experience but also how it compares to the original installment release. Hopefully you’ll find this entertaining enough to keep you chugging along until the actual launch of the game.
For those unaware of the premise, players won’t need to worry about returning to replay Silent Hill. The sequel is a standalone experience where we follow a man named James. Early in the game, we learned that James had received a letter from his wife, Mary, saying that she was waiting for him in the town of Silent Hill. The only problem is that Mary had already passed away from a disease. Now James must venture into the town in hopes of learning if Mary really is alive.
Silent Hill 2 is set to launch on October 8, 2024. When the game is released, it will be available for the PlayStation 5 and PC platforms. In the meantime, you can view the 90-minute stream in the video we have embedded below.
