Astro Bot DLC Detailed, Speedrun and Challenge Modes Incoming

September 5, 2024 by Carley Garcia

The game is already being touted by many as one of the best game’s Sony has ever produced.

Developer Team Asobi has confirmed plans for upcoming Astro Bot DLC content. According to VGC, during a recent studio visit, the team presented its ideas, which currently include 10 additional challenge levels and five speedrun levels. These will be added at a later date, though no window has yet been announced.

Astro Bot is scheduled to be released tomorrow, September 6. It has been in development for over three years, with many outlets already proclaiming it one of the best games Sony has ever made. A launch trailer was released last week, and can be watched below.

There will be 300 bots for Astro to rescue in the title, with around 150 of these characters representing well-known PlayStation characters. Team Asobi also teased that Astro will borrow special abilities from some memorable PlayStation heroes on his adventure.

Players are also urged to collect four special bots in Astro’s Playroom before the new game’s launch. Once these characters are rescued, they can be added to player’s teams in Astro Bot.

“Board Astro’s trusty Dual Speeder and get ready for an amazing adventure through spectacular worlds that are full of fun, secrets and surprises,” the game’s description says. “The PS5 mothership has been wrecked by Astro’s alien rival, leaving his crew scattered across multiple galaxies. Can you help Astro rescue his stranded bot buddies and rebuild the mothership?”

Astro Bot will be released for PlayStation 5 on September 6. Last week, the game’s creative director Nicolas Doucet explained that while the title has no plans to come to the PlayStation VR2, Astro Bot may come to PC in the future if there is enough player interest.
