Plenty of new screenshots from the upcoming Nintendo Switch title Mario & Luigi: Brothership have been posted by Nintendo, along with some game footage of the pair’s powerful attacks. Promising entirely 3D gameplay, the title will take place in the world of Concordia, and will see the brothers traveling between islands to help Connie and take on more and more powerful foes.
“Battles with aggressive monsters await on each island,” the game’s Japanese website reads. “The key to victory is to use Mario and Luigi’s combined skills effectively.”

The pair have even more up their sleeves, with the powerful Brother Attack also teased by Nintendo.
“It’s not just the monsters living on the island that stand in Mario and his friends’ way. There’s also a trio calling themselves the “Boldrud Squad,” and a suspicious character giving orders from behind the scenes,” the website reads. “Although details have not been revealed, it seems that they will also be involved in a fierce battle against these people who operate behind the scenes of Concertal Land.”
The game will be the first in the series not developed by AlphaDream, as the company was shuttered in 2019. However, some of the original developers have returned to work on the new title.
Mario & Luigi: Brothership will be released for Nintendo Switch on November 7, 2024. The sixth installment in the long-running Mario & Luigi series, it will be the first original entry since 2015’s Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam for the Nintendo 3DS. The game will likely take up around 10GB of space on the Switch.
