We waited, and we waited, and then we waited some more – and it finally paid off. Australia and New Zealand will finally be getting its own Star Wars: The Old Republic Servers as well as a localised release come March 1st.
EA Australia today confirmed that the game will officially be released in Australia, New Zealand , Hong Kong and Singapore on March 1st. For players in these areas who cheated and imported the game anyway, EA is offering free character transfers to an Asia Pacific server after release. There’s a few conditions, though – your account has to be registered before February 28th and you can only perform the transfer for a limited time.
What does this mean for those outside of Asia Pacific? The local servers should mean everyone has less server ques to wait for, as well as less server overloading. Everybody wins!
Now, if they can just do something about the game seeming to go down every time I want to play it…
