Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered Releasing This Halloween

July 24, 2024 by Ryan Parreno

It’s a good time to be a Grasshopper Manufacture fan.

Grasshopper Manufacture has just revealed Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered’s release date.

On Twitter, the company shared this message:

“Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered releases to all current platforms on October 31st!

Pre-orders are available so head over to the online store of your preference and snag your own digital copy!

WELCOME TO HELL!

#SotDHR”

We had reported earlier this month that the ESRB published a rating for Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered that was only for the PlayStation 5. It seems there was no reason for concern, as Grasshopper Manufacture just confirmed the release date is simultaneous across all platforms, and it is coming to all modern platforms.

That ESRB rating also promised that Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered ‘s adult content will be intact, including its profanity, and of course, copious amounts of sexy violence. Creator Suda51 expressed his desire to make a sequel, but that seems to be contingent on how successful this title will turn out.

It’s certainly a good time to be a Grasshopper Manufacture fan, as Dragami Games also recently confirmed the release date of the remake of another PS360 era title from the company. Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP is coming just a little bit earlier, on September 26, on pretty much the same platforms.

Also in parallel to this, is the third Deathverse: Let It Die game on the way. While Grasshopper made the first Let It Die with Supertrick Games, Deathverse is wholly Supertrick’s baby. Supertrick announced an end to development on Deathverse: Let It Die to essentially rework it into a new game. For now, we have no updates on how far along they are or when that title will release.

As strange as it may seem, ports and remasters are pretty common for Grasshopper, as they capitalize on rereleasing older games to make revenue that they may not have been able to generate in the initial release.

Suda51 is certainly something of an oddity in the industry, as one of the few game developers who doesn’t seem to have changed with the times, but grows as a developer in his own direction. There is no word on if he has any new original game ideas on the way, but for now, it’s just good to get more of his old games back again.

Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered is releasing on October 31, 2024, on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. You can watch the announcement trailer below.
