Tekken 8 has been lauded by fans as one of the best entries in the series since its release in January, and its 36-person roster is about to get even larger. Lidia Sobieska has been announced as the title’s second DLC character with an explosive new trailer showing off her skillset.
Check out Lidia Sobieska’s Tekken 8 release date trailer below:
Making her debut in Tekken 7: Fated Retribution as DLC in the Season 4 Pass, Lidia is a karateka and the Prime Minister of Poland in the series. Those with the Character Year 1 Pass will be able to add her to their roster on July 22, while all users can snag her on July 25.
On July 22, Bandai Namco will also release the Tekken 8 version 1.06 update, which includes ‘Seaside Resort,’ a free beachside resort-themed battle stage. It will also include some behavior fixes, but no battle adjustments. In June, the massive 1.05 update added a huge amount of buffs and nerfs, with major improvements for defensive players.
While Tekken 8 has earned plenty of rave reviews, it came under fire soon after release for adding pricey cosmetic microtransactions to the game, with some costing as much as $30.
Tekken 8 was released on January 26, 2024 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Extensive updates are planned, including more DLC characters and crossovers. In March, Eddy Gordo was introduced as the first DLC character, with one more additional character scheduled to be added as part of the first season.
