Amnesia Devs Are Up To Something And It’s Probably Scary

February 10, 2012 by Elizabeth DeLoria

The developers behind Amnesia: The Dark Descent, everybody’s favourite excuse to sob uncontrollably at their computer out of sheer terror, seem to be teasing a new game on the website nextfrictionalgame.com.

Frictional Games are up to something and it’s already looking very creepy.

The developers behind Amnesia: The Dark Descent, everybody’s favourite excuse to sob uncontrollably at their computer out of sheer terror, seem to be teasing a new game on the website nextfrictionalgame.com.

The page you’re greeted to is a blurry image with the Amnesia logo at the top (which would leave one to assume it’s an addition to the Amnesia IP,) and the text “Something is emerging…” at the bottom. Okay, so it’s only a little bit jarring, right?

Wrong. Click on that blurry image and you’ll be redirected to China on google maps. Logical reasoning would suggest this means the next game will move from it’s previous European setting and to mainland China – which, if you know how the Chinese like their horror, probably means it’s time to prepare a nightlight so you can try to sleep after playing this.

In other news, I’m scared of this game already. But I do hope that Flappie comes back!
